Land grab case: Accused baba’s ‘follower’ held

The Chandigarh Police,on Sunday,arrested a man believed to be a follower and close aide of Baba Pritpal Singh,head of Gursagar Sahib Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee,who has been named as an accused in a land grab case.

The Chandigarh Police,on Sunday,arrested a man believed to be a follower and close aide of Baba Pritpal Singh,head of Gursagar Sahib Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee,who has been named as an accused in a land grab case.

Pradeep Rai,a resident of Ambala,was arrested by the Chandigarh Police on suspicion of his close association with Pritpal.

“Rai had recently gone to meet Pritpal,with whom he is believed to share a close association,” said a police officer.

During interrogation,Rai reportedly denied having any knowledge of the whereabouts of Pritpal.

It was after an NRI,Kanwaljit Kaur,accused Pritpal of forging the General Power of Attorney and selling a plot of land in Yamunanagar,owned by her,that he was booked under Sections 420,467,468 and 471 of the IPC.
