Insurance firm to pay up Rs 1.2 lakh

The surveyor appointed by the insurance company,after inspecting the vehicle declared that it a case of total loss. The complainant,however,alleged he was forced to settle the claim at Rs 4 lakh. The insurance company,in its reply,denied any deficiency and said the paid amount was according to the surveyor’s assessment.

Admitting it to be a case of total loss of vehicle,the UT State Commission today dismissed the appeal of the insurance company with costs of Rs 5,000.
