Infrastructure required at GMCH-32 mulled over

A discussion on the requirement of infrastructure in case MBBS seats at Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,are increased was held at a meeting at Punjab Raj Bhawan on Thursday.

A discussion on the requirement of infrastructure in case MBBS seats at Government Medical College and Hospital,Sector 32,are increased was held at a meeting at Punjab Raj Bhawan on Thursday. The UT Administration had already sent a proposal to the Medical Council of India to increase the number of seats.

Since its inception,GMCH had 50 MBBS seats. Medical colleges set up recently have 100 to 150 seats. These are permitted by MCI. The proposal is to increase the number of seats at GMCH to 150. GMCH had earlier put on hold the counselling for admission to MBBS.

A discussion was held on Thursday regarding infrastructure required to increase the intake of students. A decision is expected by the end of this month. Thereafter,counselling will be held.
