CHANDIGARH: Government College of Education in Sector 20,unfurled the flag on the eve of the 67th Independence Day. As per the colleges tradition,the oldest serving employee was asked to unfurl the flag. The function was attended by students,faculty and the colleges administrative staff. Saupins School CHANDIGARH: Students of Saupins School in Sector 32,welcomed the 67th Independence Day with patriotic songs and dances showcasing their tribute to the freedom fighters. Students displayed Indian flags and tri-colour ribbons,while pledging to contribute in the nations development and progress. Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School CHANDIGARH: Independence Day celebrations at the Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School in Sector 37 began with the customary march past. Also,students presented a cultural programme with patriotic songs and a skit being staged. A group song and dance performance added colour to the programme. SD Public School CHANDIGARH: SD Public School in Sector 32 welcomed Independence Day with a cultural programme,where the school choir added to the festive spirit with patriotic songs followed by inspiring speeches. A unit of NSS volunteers also participated in the celebrations. Ryan International School CHANDIGARH: Ryan International School in Sector 49,organised a cultural programme on the eve of Independence Day,which began with the unfurling of the flag and the march past. Self-composed poems were recited by students,while a dance-drama titled 'Jazba-E-Hindustan was also staged. Also,a euphoric bhangra performance on a medley on patriotic songs was performed. Government College of Commerce CHANDIGARH: Government College of Commerce and Business in Sector 32,celebrated the 67th Independence Day with students singing patriotic songs,delivering speeches and performing dances. Also,a small skit was presented. Delhi Public School CHANDIGARH: The 67th Independence Day was celebrated at Delhi Public School with a melodious rendition of 'Sauragini se Sazaa bharat by the school choir followed by 'Sare Jahan se Achha. Students presented a cultural programme,which was a blend of recitation,songs,speech and dance. A special assembly and a variety of activities were conducted by the pre-primary wing. PEC University of Technology CHANDIGARH: On Independence Day,Director of the PEC University of Technology unfurled the flag,followed by a speech highlighting the significance of the day. In his speech,the Director informed that the Ministry of Human Resource Development had approved the setting up of a Centre of Excellence (CoE) in industrial and product design at the university. St. Xaviers School PANCHKULA: St. Xaviers,Panchkula celebrated the 67th Independence Day by paying homage to martyrs. Students wore tricolor wrist bands,flags and headbands with speeches and poems being delivered at a special assembly.Also,a slogan writing competition for Classes III to X was organised. SMD Little Champs School PANCHKULA: Toddlers of SMD Little Champs School in Sector 2,Panchkula celebrated Independence Day dressed as Mahatma Gandhi,Jawahar Lal Nehru,Subhash Chandra Bose. Also,a twenty-seater toy train was gifted to the kids,which was inaugurated by the chief guest. A cultural extravaganza centered around themes of Unity in Diversity and Heroes of the Nation was exhibited. ATS Valley School DERA BASSI: ATS Valley School in Dera Bassi celebrated the Independence Day with the youngest student in the school unfurling the flag as per tradition. A vibrant dance-drama Mera Bharat Mahan exhibiting the spirit of secular India was performed by students. After the programme,parents,children and teachers released tricolor balloons into the air. Smart Wonders School MOHALI : Smart Wonders School in Sector 71,Mohali celebrated Independence Day with the flag hoisting ceremony and a welcome note from the principal,who addressed the students about the rights of the citizen and their duties towards the nation. Kendriya Vidyalaya ZIRAKPUR: Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm at Kendriya Vidyalaya in Zirakpur. Tiny tots gave a colourful performance singing songs and giving speeches in English and Hindi.
