Tenure of SP Madhur Verma ends
Superintendent of Police (crime) Madhur Verma will be relieved of his services on Wednesday. A 2005-batch IPS officer,Verma joined the Chandigarh Police in September 2007 as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). In September,2009 he was given the charge of SP (crime). In the city,Verma headed the investigation into the German national rape case in 2008. He also probed the judge bribery case before it was handed over to the CBI. Verma’s next posting will be with the Mizoram Police.

Lookout notice issued for fifth accused in abduction case
The Panchkula police on Tuesday issued a lookout notice for Rachit Nagpal,the alleged mastermind in the Nipun abduction case. Also,airports across the countries are being alerted so that he does not leave the country,the police said. With four other educated youths,Rachit is accused of abducting Nipun Gupta on Saturday. The other four accused have been arrested.
