No plan to return to Congress,says Bir Devinder
MOHALI:Former Deputy Speaker of Punjab Assembly Bir Devinder Singh,who had recently joined the Shiromani Akali Dal after quitting the Congress,which he served for over three decades,ruled out any possibility of returning to the Congress. However,he said all options were open and he could take any decision on his future course of action. Reacting to the statement of former Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh in Mohali on Saturday,when Amarinder had ruled out any place for him in the Congress,Bir Devinder said if Amarinder could return to the Congress after remaining outside the party for 14 years during which he fought elections against the Congress nominees,then why he was preventing him (Bir Devinder),who has not yet completed 14 months outside the Congress.

Flights delayed due to poor visibility
Chandigarh:A few flights from Chandigarh were delayed due to poor visibility on Sunday morning. The Kingfisher Airlines flight for Delhi was delayed by almost three hours. It departed at 12.30 pm against its scheduled departure of 9.35 am. The Jet Airways flights for Delhi and Mumbai were delayed by two and one hour respectively.

Chief Secy urged to appoint officials for Ambala MC
Ambala: Ambala Cantonment BJP MLA Anil Vij,in a memorandum addressed to Haryana Chief Secretary Urvashi Gulati,urged her to immediately appoint Ambala Sadar municipal council executive officer and secretary for the smooth functioning of the council. He pointed out that both the posts were lying vacant for the last six months due to which work in the council had come to standstill. The BJP MLA further urged Gulati that posting of the two officers was necessitated to hear the suggestions and complaints of the residents of unauthorised colonies,which were being regularised.
