Car runs over man on footpath
AMRITSAR:A speeding luxury car ran over a begger sleeping on a footpath near the busy Bhandari Bridge area late on Saturday. After hitting the victim,the driver of the Lancer car fled. The deceased beggar is yet to be identified,stated the police,adding that a case has been registered and the search is on for the unidentified driver. Man dies in mishap at unmanned railway crossing
Bathinda:Karamjit Singh,a resident of Bhucho Mandi,died in an accident at an unmanned railway crossing between Katar Singh Wala and Kot Fatta on Sunday. GRP official Tejinder Kapil said Karamjit,who was driving his tractor-trolley,was crossing the railway crossing,when a train coming from Delhi hit the tractor leading to his death.
