KBDAV-7 skaters shine
International roller hockey players of KBDAV-7,Chandigarh,Bhavdeep Singh Sachdeva (Class XI) and Vipin Kumar (Class XII) did India proud made by winning bronze medal each in 14 th Asian Roller Sports Championship held at Kaushiang,Taiwan recently. There were seven countries,Japan,Korea,Pakistan,Hongkong,Iran,India and Taiwan which participated in the championship.

St Kabir School thrashed
Government Model High School,sector 36,floored St Kabir School,Sector 26,by 12-0 to record easy win in the ongoing Pre-Subroto Football tournament played at Government Model School,Sector 22,Chandigarh. K.Hambanzan (5),Nishu (1),Hitesh (2),Denial (2) and Harpal (1) were the main scorers for the winning team. In the second match,St Soldier-28 Chd ouplayed Shishu Niketan-43 by 3-1 to move ahead in the tournament. Meanwhile,in the third match,Shishu Niketan-22 humbled Strawberry Fields School-26,by 5-0. In the last match of the day,New Public School-18 pipped Tribune Model School-29,by 2-0.

Chandigarh team selected
The Cricket Association of Chandigarh has declared the result of the trials taken from Indo-Nepal T20 Cricket Championship. The selected players are: Neeraj Sharma,Sumit Sharma,Karan,Navdeep,Sharim,Gautam,Rashpal,Damandeep,Amandeep Singh,Amandeep,Arjun Thakur and Rohit Kumar.

Carrom tourney from Aug 14
The 20th Chandigarh State Carrom Tournament will be organised by Chandigarh Carrom Association from August 14 to August 16 at St Stephen’s School,Sector 45. The tournament will be conducted in the senior,junior and sub-junior categories in the men’s,boy’s,women’s and girls’ categories. Players born on or after December 31,1992 are eligible to take part in the junior (below 18 years) and players born on or after December 31,1996 are eligible to take part in the sub-junior category. Interested players should submit their entries to DS Aithani,general secretary,Chandigarh Carrom Association at 9872922514 before August 10 at 5 pm.

Golf programme from Aug 21
A three-month long EGTF Junior Coaching Programme will commence at Chandigarh Golf Club from August 21. Another two-month long coaching programme has been planned to be held from August 18 to October 14. “As the three-month long programme is full with ten players and more members of the CGC want to join,we have introduced the two-month long programme. The programme will be held twice-a-week,every Wednesday and Thursday from 4pm-5pm and the programme will consist of 18 coaching days over the two months,” said Ajay Gujral,joint director,CHC Academy and EGTF certified coach.
