For Sonu Sood it is like a dream come true to work with Amitabh Bachchan. The actor will play Big B’s son in the Ram Gopal Varma film Buddha: Panga Nahin Lene Ka. Directed by Puri Jagannath, this will have Sood enact the role of Bachchan’s son. “I am working on my character. I play a tough, strict cop,” says the actor, still basking in the success of Dabaang. Humour is ripe that he will be back in the sequel as Chhedi Singh’s twin brother.

“Do you know that no one was willing to finance Dabaang? Even I tried talking to producers, but they refused flatly, till Arbaaz Khan stepped in,” says Sood,in town at the Healthyway Immigration office. Convinced that Dabaang can prove to be a great film,Sood says that he gave his best to the character of Chhedi Singh, even adding fun and humour to it. “Salman was a bit apprehensive first, but even Gabbar said “kitne aadmi the,” didn’t he? I had pursued engineering from Uttar Pradesh and knew how people behave there — their accent, the undercurrent of unpredictability and their rash reactions,” says Sood. The six-packs also fetched him compliments from Khan. “If anyone has a physique in Bollywood it’s you,Salman complimented me,” smiles Sood.

Now that he has caught the attention of big guns in the industry,Sood is making the most of it. It is Sonu’s time now. I have been patient for long,” says the actor, who is also passionate about music and martial arts.
