If there is someone who has her hands and rooms full of guests,it’s Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal’s wife and Lok Sabha member Harsimrat Badal. This proud state host has already pitched a grand tent at her residence to accommodate 80 of her personal guests who will start trickling in at around 10 am today. “They will be here for breakfast and will proceed for the stadium in three buses,” says Badal. “This is just the guests I’ve invited. I have no clue how many will come. Sukhbir has sent invitations too,” she says candidly.

Cutting across party lines,Badal’s guest list includes her,“MP gang,the youth brigade” from Delhi and Pakistan. “There’s Sharad Pawar and family,MP Supriya Sule,MP Sachin Pilot,Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Jitin Prasada,Minister for Heavy Industries Praful Patel,Union Power

Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde and family,” she adds. Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar,will be also present with her daughters and son-in-laws.

“The honorary chairman of the organising committee of the Punjab Cricket Association,Sukhbir has a box that can accommodate 30 people. Most of our friends will be seated there,while the Gandhis,Vadras and the Badal family will sit with the Prime Minister in a cabin created for him,” she adds. Also lined-up is a ‘victory party’ in anticipation. The menu will include traditional food.
