Highway on their mind

Most of them are from down south with a passion for adventure running in their veins.

Most of them are from down south with a passion for adventure running in their veins. Point your compass north, and we’ve spotted two entries screaming for votes from Chandigarh for Hindustan Motors Mitsubishi Cedia’s The Great Driving Challenge. And surprisingly, this doesn’t come as a surprise! Couple number one is Supreet Dhiman and Paramjeet. Nature enthusiasts, they’ve travelled extensively in over 20 countries, and yearn for more. While Paramjeet’s a business analyst,Supreet heads the Stone Art division of an organically growing company specializing in two natural materials; wood and stone and founder of CATS. Their travel plan: “Mark Tully said,‘the only thing common between a North Indian and a South Indian is his passport’,so we endeavour to read through every line scripted on each page of that passport. Under Mission South West,we are looking forward to driving from Mumbai towards the coastline heading south and then back up to Mumbai after meandering through various towns of our beautiful country,” blogs Supreet. Second to drive in is Dr Gaurav Chhabra and Elena, and they are calling this journey ‘Highway karma’. “And we are committing the prize money to MudcakeFund for slum children,” blogs the doc,who is also a social activist and filmmaker. As for his partner,Elena is based in Kolkata, works for her company till the evening, and turns into a ‘Bare-foot Doctor’ for the slum kids in the evening. “Mumbai to Chandigarh,we’ll be filling in the blanks,” Gaurav punches in.
