HC orders action against cop

Taking strong note of the audacity shown by a Punjab Police officer who,despite a lower court’s summoning an accused,sought discharge of the accused,the Punjab and Haryana High Court has ordered action against him.

Justice Alok Singh has passed directions to the Punjab government to take appropriate action against the officer who has moved the application seeking discharge of the accused. A copy of the order has been forwarded to Chief Secretary,Punjab as well as Home Secretary and Director General of Police (DGP),Punjab
