Gurdwara clash: 3 granted bail

A local court has granted bail to three people who were arrested in connection with the Sector-38 (West) gurdwara clash that took place on January 29. The three,Simarpreet,Harnek Singh and B S Sondhi,were released on Monday. Charged with attempt to murder,Arms Act and other offences,the trio had been behind the bars since January 30. Advocate Ramdeep Partap Singh,counsel for the gurdwara management,said: “Sondhi stays opposite the gurdwara and had rushed there only to find out what had happened. He was wrongly picked up by the police.” Harnek Singh’s counsel Randeep Singh said Harnek was a regular visitor while Simarpreet Singh,a student,was reportedly passing by the area and had stopped by to enquire about the clash.
