Govt sanctions funds for Quilla Mubarak

The Punjab government Monday sanctioned funds for the upkeep of Quilla Mubarak.

The government also made it clear before Punjab and Haryana High Court that there was no proposal to shift Patiala Central Jail to any other location. The reply was taken on record by the high court during the resumed hearing of a petition,which was rendered in fructuous.

The state added that the process of selecting technical consultants was likely to be completed shortly. It also said Central Jail of Patiala was a protected monument,and there was no proposal to demolish either the fort or the jail. Funds were also being made available for proper care and protection of other monuments in Patiala,including the Medal Gallery.
