Gender issues dominate IIAS seminar

Girls’ education and gender issues remained in focus at the second-day of the seminar on Christian Educational Institutions with scholars making a strong case for giving importance to education of all marginalised sections,Dalits and disadvantaged groups.

The three-day seminar is organised by the Indian Institute of Advanced Study (IIAS) to discuss the role and contributions of the Christian Educational Institutions in making of the modern democratic India.

Scholars acknowledged the pioneering contribution of the Christian educational institutions but expressed the need for a necessary paradigm shift in the focus of such institutions.
