It was a moment to celebrate,a moment to look back at the years of struggle,and coming up as a organised recognised,respected scientific community in the social set-up. The Vets Club Chandigarh,a professional platform of veterinary doctors from the industry and private sector,today got together at the Red Bishop,Panchkula,and raised a toast to the World Veterinary Day. As part of the celebrations,eminent scientists from different specialties of Veterinary Medical Sciences delivered lectures to highlight the contribution of veterinarians to the society. The audience included vets from government and private sector,Army,ITBP,Health Department,Veterinary University Ludhiana,Principals and teachers of leading schools of the tri-city and the members of Vets Club Chandigarh.
Principals and teachers from schools were invited with an aim to convey the message to students of medical stream from class 10-12 that veterinary graduation,which has much bigger and broader job avenues,should be one of their choice besides medical and dental. Dr C. B. Singh elaborated very precisely the immense and diversified carrier opportunities available to today’s veterinarian. While Major General (retd) Dr Mehar Singh,RVC was the guest of honour,lectures were delivered on Veterinary Sciences in Human Health by Dr Vikrant Dua,Prof & Head,Veterinary Medicine,GADVASU,Ludhiana,Veterinary Services Today by Dr C.B.Singh,Vets Club,Chandigarh R.V.C,and Yesterday,Today and Tomorrow by Maj Gen (retd) Dr Mehar Singh.
