DISHTV has launched a revolutionary service in the area of Live TV on the move – ‘Personal Live TV’ on move which will bring 70 satellite TV channels at each seat of the vehicle. The channels are viewable independent of each other and have a personal audio. Says Salil Kapoor,COO,Dishtv,“We have made some critical technological enhancements in both the mobile STB and the mobile dish antenna to bring live personal TV for the first time on the Indian roads. This service will also be extended in buses, yatches ships and railways.”

According to Sahil, they realized the need for ‘Personal Live TV’ after taking feedback from mobile Dishtv customers and channel partners. “Personal Live TV enables a person to view and enjoy watching the channels of their choice; it’s like having multiple TVs in a house for various family members,” he adds. Personal Live Television is akin to their technology on the Kingfisher airlines where each seat has about 8 live channels from Dishtv. For a 4-seat system in a SUV,the cost would be around Rs 2.45 lakh including installation and video screens plus the annual subscription of Rs10,000. Dishtv plans to soon provide this personalized service in intercity buses, taxis and trains.

It’s being pitched as the perfect Indian car. One that’ll fit in your family comfortably, stuff in complete business and work as your office on wheels. So what if it comes close to its cousin Versa, the all-new Eeco from the stable of Maruti Suzuki fits the Indian bill. Five-door,C segment vehicle, specifically designed for the country by the auto-major,Eeco biggest selling point (till it lasts) is its price tag. At about Rs 2.6 lakh,it is too good to be true. Hence,it comes as no surprise when HS Brar,Assistant General Manager,Dealer Development announced that this is just an introductory offer. This year will see an increase of Rs 30,000 on all brands under Maruti. Back to the car of the day,and Eeco scores on its new, powerful and highly fuel efficient 1200 cc engine which delivers 73 bhp of raw power @6000rpm. “Maruti Suzuki is spearheading the adoption of more stringent BSIV norms and Eeco is the fourth model to meet these norms well ahead of the April 2010 deadline,” tells Brar adding that Eeco is also ELV compliant.
