Four die, including child, as fast-moving bus collides with shed in Punjab

More than fifteen people were injured in the crash in Batala. The deceased are yet to be identified

On Monday afternoon in Batala, a bus lost control and severely collided with a shed, killing four people, including a child, and critically injuring more than 15 people.

Reports said the bus driver, who is among the deceased, was trying to avoid a scooter. The bus reportedly tore through the cemented roof of a bus stand shed at the turn of Shahabad village on Kadian road and crashed through to the shed’s other side.

The deceased have not been identified yet — their bodies have been placed in the Batala mortuary. The injured were rushed to Civil Hospital, Batala. Batala police have reached the spot and relief operations are underway.
