Guess what? The biggies of fashion – Ashish N Soni,Gaurav Gupta,Gauri and Nainika,Mandira Wirk,Narendra Kumar…are all back in town! Well,at least their collections are. Bringing them in is the Mumbai-based outfit First Row lead by Radhika and Paulomi Dhawan. “We were so overwhelmed by the response last time around that we decided to put together another of our shows,” informs Paulomi. For the unaware,First Row is a special sale concept of designer labels for the discerning fashion conscious consumer. “It’s facilitating a platform for consumers to indulge in globally recognized designer clothes and accessories at never-before prices in a store experience,” pitches in Radhika. Scheduled for April 10 at Hotel Mountview,the one-day show will put up ensembles by designers such as Anupamaa Dayal,Ashish N Soni,Gaurav Gupta,Gauri & Nainika,Malini Ramani,Mandira Wirk,Narendra Kumar,Priyadarshini Rao,Raghavendra Rathore,Rajesh Pratap Singh,Rohit Bal,Shantanu and Nikhil,Varun Bahl,Vineet Bahl and many more. The range includes collections for men and women,and a choice of accessories as well. “It’s essentially a summer line-up with lots of dresses,tunics,tops,salwar-suits in both pastels and vibrant shades.”

‘Big’ Baisakhi line-up
With Baisakhi (April 13) not too far,BIG 92.7 FM is chalking out special plans for listeners in Chandigarh and Punjab. At the BIG FM Chandigarh Station,BIG RJs – Anubhav and Satya will visit the City Centre Shopping Mall and organise various fun contests like ‘Lassi Drinking’ ‘Turban Tying’ and a special ‘Treasure Hunt’. During the latter event,listeners will get to win prizes and discounts on certain brands at the shopping mall. Those participating in the ‘Turban Tying’ competition will get to win surprise gifts. Going the traditional way,BIG FM Patiala will celebrate Baisakhi with the famers of the adjoining villages. The station will also offer special Punjabi programming mix for farmers as a part of Baisakhi celebrations.

Star and CJ Home Shopping,a leading Korean based regional home shopping group,have announced a 50:50 joint venture to launch and operate a home shopping network across India. The first stage of the partnership will be the launch of the Star-CJ home shopping channel,which is slated for the second half of 2009.
