Five held for making fake IDs

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Chandigarh Police had received secret information about the fact that these gang members were running the illegal business of preparing fake I/D proofs,fake Adhar Cards (Govt of India),fake driving licenses,fake bank accounts,fake insurance,fake mobile SIM cards and fake voter identity cards.

After stealing or obtaining the cheques,the accused used to scan the original cheques and change the name of persons on these cheques. The fake cheques were then used by the accused to withdraw the amounts. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has arrested the five and booked them on charges of cheating,forgery and criminal conspiracy in two different cases.

The five arrested are:-

* Pawan Gossain,a resident of Sector-24,Chandigarh,25 years old,who was working as a Loan Advisor in Snowbite Enterprises Swastik Vihar Panchkula. He had opened a fake account in the name of one Ram Kumar in the Axis and encashed different cheques.

* Deepak,a resident of Sector-24,Chandigarh,25 years old. He has an insurance business and is running an office in the name of D.N. Kangra Corporation,Sector-5,Panchkula,Haryana. He,along with a co accused,had amassed around Rs 1.30 lakhs through forged accounts.

* Vikas Sharma,a resident of Sector-47,Chandigarh,31 years old. He had earlier been arrested by the Chandigarh Police at the police station,Sector 34.

* Ajay Krunar,a resident of Sector-21,Chandigarh ,30 years old. He is working as an operator in Sarv Sikashya Abhiyan.

* Narender,a resident of Sector-25,Chandigarh,who is working as a Business Development Executive in Axis Bank NAC,Mani Majra Branch,Chandigarh. He,with the connivance of the above allegedly opened fake accounts and also prepared fake verification reports in favour of themselves.
