Firing over an alleged case of road rage created panic on the Chandigarh-Ambala National Highway in Lalru on Wednesday afternoon. Occupants of both luxury cars allegedly involved in the brawl fled before the cops could reach the spot. The police registered a case under Section 336 of the IPC and Sections 25,54 and 59 of the Arms Act against a Lalru resident,Aman Rana,and his unknown accomplices. Around 2.15 pm,a speeding Ford Endeavour stopped behind a Skoda car,which was already parked on the side of the highway. The occupants entered into an argument and soon came to blows. The Endeavour driver allegedly pulled out a revolver and fired shots after which both the vehicles sped away,Investigation Officer ASI Mohinder Singh told Newsline. Eyewitness Hardam Singh of Dehar village in Lalru told the police he saw one Aman Rana firing the shots but before he could react,both the vehicles sped away. The police officer said raids were on to catch the assailants.
