EC to ensure proper poll enrolment

With a view to ensure enrollment of all voters,especially the youth,in the ensuing state Assembly polls,Punjab Chief Electoral Officer Kusumjit Sidhu held a meeting of all deputy commissioners (DC) on Sunday.

While addressing the DCs,she said that the EC will project Indian Cricket team captain Mahinder Singh Dhoni and former President Dr A P J Abdul Kalam as the icons whose messages will be spread among the voters. For this purpose,she asked DCs to ensure that adequate publicity is given to their messages . To ensure the enrollment of maximum number of young voters,the departments of education,medical and technical education have already been sent the guidelines to appoint a senior lecturer as a BLO who would make sure that the students have been enrolled as voters in the educational institutions.
