There are occasions when the urge to make their garden stand out leads one to opt for plants that are rather uncommon. While there is a wide range of plants available in nurseries,one species that has aroused curiosity in the recent past is the green rose (in the picture). There is nothing aesthetic about it,but it attracts attention due to its unusual colour and appearance. In fact roses are also available in black and blue colour. While oklahoma and kajal are almost black in colour,the blue moon and night sky variety of roses are blue.

I have planted peas in my kitchen garden. After how many days should I give water and what should be the frequency of watering?

The first irrigation in peas should be given 15 days after planting and the next watering should be done when the plants flower. Peas need very little water.

Which variety of mango is the best for this area? I want to plant two trees in my garden,kindly advise.

Dusehri is the best for this region. Another variety that you can plant is Amarpali. However,the latter ripens a little late,in the first week of August.

Can I have blood red sweet lime here? How does the colour development take place in the fruit?

Let us put the record straight first. Sweet lime is a cultivar variety of sweet orange,like blood red. Yes,you can grow it here and the colour development depends on the prevailing temperature at that time. Cold temperature leads to red pigment development.

You are too late for growing turmeric this year. It is grown at the end of April.
