Doon MLA,Ram Kumar Chaudhary,charged with murder of a Hoshiarpur girl,applied for bail before a district court on Friday. In the application,Chaudhary sought bail on the ground that he has already served 6-months in the jail and has been framed in a false case.
In the bail application moved before the court of District and Sessions judge,Ravi Kumar Sondhi,Doon MLA sought the bail stating that he has been framed in a false case by the police and if granted bail,he could defend his position bettter from outside prison. The court has listed the bail application on 22 August. On 22 August the prosecution will also lead the evidence against the MLA and his other associates to oppose his contentions put forth in the bail application,sources said.
The Doon MLA has also sought permission to attend a days session of the Himachal Assembly beginning on August 21,said defence counsel,Amandeep Bindra. In his contention for attending the session of the Himachal Assembly,the MLA has brought before the court that he was elected by the people and there were some important issues that he needs to take up before the Assembly.
Chaudhary and his associates have been charged with murder. Besides,the court has also framed charges against him for procuring SIM cards on false identity. Bindra said that in the bail application that has been moved before the court it was submitted that the police have already filed the challan in the case and no further investigation was required in the case.
