The start of Avon’s Fashion Tour 2011 couldn’t have been better timed. With gold prices skyrocketing,the beauty brand launched its pocket-friendly jewellery collection with a fashion show organised at Taj Chandigarh on Tuesday. Labelled ‘Indian Diva,’ the collection was supervised by jewellery designer Shaill Jhaveri,who followed the theme of Indo-chic. Intricately designed ear-rings,neck pieces,rings,bangles and bracelets glinted in the evening light. The pieces were triple-plated in metals like 24 carat gold and rhodium and embellished with rhinestones,pearls and coloured stones.

Models Tina Chatwal,Anchal Kumar and Sonali Rosario showcased the collection at a fashion show that saw Avon representatives comprise a large chunk of the audience. The fashion tour will now be held in Delhi,Mumbai,Chennai and Bengaluru. As for the damage to the pocket — the pieces are priced upward Rs 799.
