DC calls for transparent,responsive administration

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh Mand has called for an accountable,transparent and responsive administration to ensure that maximum benefit of the public welfare schemes reaches the beneficiaries.

Mohali Deputy Commissioner Prabhjot Singh Mand has called for an accountable,transparent and responsive administration to ensure that maximum benefit of the public welfare schemes reaches the beneficiaries.

Addressing district officials while chairing a district-level advisory committee meeting on Thursday,Mand asked the officials to involve the advisory committee members in the implementation of public welfare schemes and allow no negligence in the public delivery system.

Expressing concern over the limited awareness of various welfare schemes among the public,he asked the Social Security department to make certain benefits of the schemes reach the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes at the grassroots level and ensure timely release of funds for various pension schemes.

The DC pulled up the officials of Punjab State Electricity Board,Food and Civil Supplies department,Drainage department,Greater Mohali Area Development Authority and civic bodies for various issues concerning their respective departments.

He directed to mend the loose electricity wires hanging precariously in inhabited areas,check the shortage of LPG,ensure free flow of rainwater,remove encroachments and speed up the development works across the district.
