Cricket tourney from tomorrow

As many as 16 teams have confirmed their participation in the 1st Chaudhary Ranbir Singh All India Under-13 National Twenty20 Day/Night Cricket Tournament for the Sawan Land Cup being organised by Cricket Federation of India and Cricket Federation of Chandigarh under the aegis of Chandigarh Olympic Association,at Chandigarh and Panchkula from May 28. The matches will be played at Sector 16 Cricket Stadium and Panchkula Cricket Stadium.

Chandigarh has been drafted into Pool B along with Chennai,Himachal and Andhra Pradesh. Pool A has Tamil Nadu,Hyderabad,Punjab and Delhi while Pool C boosts of teams from Jharkhand,Mumbai,Telangana and Bihar. Pool D has teams from Maharashtra,Haryana,Vidharba and Federation XI. The Pool winners will qualify for knockout semi-final stage. At the conclusion of the under-13 national tournament,the probables for the CFI India team to participate in the Malaysia tour in June shall be selected. The coaching camp shall be held at Chandigarh from June 20 to 26.

Ball badminton tourney on the anvil
Ball Badminton Sports Promotion Association Chandigarh will organise 30th North Zone Ball Badminton Championship for both men and women to be held at Banyan Tree School,Sector 48,Chandigarh,from June 26 to 28. As many as eight states from North India will take part in the championship. The trials to select Chandigarh ball badminton team (men and women) will take place at Govt. Model Senior Secondary School-35 on May 30 at 5.00 pm.
