The UT Crime Branch of the Chandigarh Police on Monday arrested a notorious drug peddler. Already convicted in a case and out on bail,Mohammad Dilshad was again caught with a huge quantity of drugs.
Dilshad,27,was sentenced to 10-year rigorous imprisonment in 2007 and was granted bail by the Punjab and Haryana High Court after he had filed an appeal. Dilshad belongs to Haridwar and is currently living at Jhujar village in Mohali.
He was arrested after a barrier was laid near Maloya turn when Dilshad came on a rickshaw carrying a huge bag full of poppy husk. He tried to flee on seeing the police ahead but was arrested.
Police carried out a search and 130 kg poppy husk was recovered from his bag. According to the police,Dilshad has a criminal background.
