Co-accused held,dagger recovered

The UT police arrested the co-accused of the Sector-8 Mamta death case near Sector 26 on Monday on charges of murder,destroying evidence and criminal conspiracy.

The UT police arrested the co-accused of the Sector-8 Mamta death case near Sector 26 on Monday on charges of murder,destroying evidence and criminal conspiracy.

Police officials have also recovered the dagger that was allegedly used to slit the 30-year-old Buterla village resident’s throat. A local court has remanded Dharampal in one day police custody,during which,police officials said that Mamta’s husband,Ajay Giri,who was arrested by the UT police on Sunday night,and Dharampal would be interrogated.

The 14-inch dagger that was recovered from Dharampal by the police has been given to the doctors at Government Multi-Speciality Hospital,Sector 16 for examination. “The post-mortem of Mamta’s corpse is being conducted by the doctors,” informed a police officials.

The police said the incident took place on Sunday night when Giri and Dharampal were spotted by an assistant sub-inspector coming out from the forest area near Sector-38 gurudwara . The police were immediately informed,and Mamta’s corpse was found in the forest area.
