Wishing,hoping…

Nevertheless, the question about his taking over continues to do the rounds. (Da)Bang in Tricity
The extraordinary response to Salman Khans Dabaang has left everyone stunned. While no body doubted Khans appeal in small towns and single-screen theatres, the stupendous performance shown by this movie based in a small UP village in cities like Chandigarh has surprised all. Those visiting multiplexes in the Tricity say it is an altogether different experience to see the citys well heeled audience mouthing dialogues and whistling to Khans antics on screens, indicating that they are a big section of repeat audience. For those always looking for a dose of nostalgia, this is the return of the cinematic experience of 1980s in immeasurably better settings for the audience.
Food shock
Judges at the District Courts were in for a hunger shock on the day Lok Adalat was held. Thinking that lunch will be organised by the court authorities it has been a routine affair on every Lok Adalat for the last many years none of the judges brought lunch from home. Much to their surprise,no food was served on that day. With the administrative judge about to be transferred, the court authorities feared their bills would not be cleared and hence cancelled the lunch. Some of the judges could be seen calling up home to order food.
Show-off strength
The function at the Congress Bhawan to welcome BSP councillor Jatinder Bhatia into the party fold had people jostling with each another to garland him,and Union minister Pawan Bansal. The recipients of these garlands had to make an effort to even stand on their feet. As people fell over one another, the tables kept between the supporters and the leaders proved to be ineffective barriers. It was left to some Congress leaders to hold the tables and ensure safety of the two.
Birthday at work
It was the station house officers birthday. His family was waiting for him to return from duty and cut the cake. But all plans for a celebration with his family in the evening went for a toss as over 200 residents staged a protest outside the Sector-34 police station on Saturday night. A harried Uday Pal Singh, the SHO,said, showing a framed photo of his family: My family has been waiting for me since evening… I could not be with them today. Life of a police officer is tough.
