PANCHKULA: Traffic remained disrupted for several hours on Panchkula-Yamunagar highway at Ramgarh on Thursday after the family members of a woman who had succumbed to burn injuries on Wednesday blocked the road seeking arrest of the womans husband and in-laws who allegedly killed her for dowry. The family staged a dharna with Mamtas body on the Ramgarh road leading to heavy disruption of traffic. It was only after police intervention that the family lifted the protest.
On 50th anniversary,KV plans to go hi-tech
CHANDIGARH: As part of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathans golden jubilee celebrations,a travelling photo exhibition,outlining the journey of (KVS),kicked off in the city on Thursday along with an announcement to make all Kendriya Vidyalaya classrooms 100 per cent hi-tech. The exhibition was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of Panjab University,Anil Kumar Grover,and Vijay Kumar,an alumni of Kendriya Vidyalaya,Meerut and also KVS Commissioner,Delhi Headquarters.
City reports 50 cases of malaria
CHANDIGARH: About 50 cases of malaria have been reported in the city so far,as compared to 75 cases last year,according to the National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme (NVBDP). No cases of dengue have been reported. Dr Mukhmohit Singh,an epidemiologist said,So far,not a single case of dengue has been reported. Also,this year the number of malaria cases are lesser in comparison to last year.
