Two motorcyclists died in two accidents in Mohali.

Hit-and-run: Two bikers die
Mohali:
Two motorcyclists died in two accidents in Mohali in the past 24 hours. Kuldeep Singh (30),a resident of Bassi Pathana in Fatehgarh Sahib,died on the spot when a Tata Sumo hit the motorcycle he was on around 8 pm. His father-in-law Jaswinder Singh,who was riding pillion,had a miraculous escape. The accident took place on Kharar-Ludhiana National Highway-95 near Pucci Roorkee village in Kharar. Kuldeep,who ran an auto repair shop in Kharar,is survived by his wife and an 8-year-old son. In another mishap,Amir Khan (23) of Majri village in Mohali died on the spot,when a speeding truck loaded with iron sheets,ran over him on Chandigarh-Mullanpur road near Takipur village around 11 pm. Khan,who dealt in sale and purchase of second hand tractor-trolleys,was on his way home from Chandigarh. The truck driver fled,leaving behind the vehicle.

Locked house burgled in Mohali
Mohali:
A locked house was burgled and valuables worth several lakhs were stolen in Phase 3B1,the police said on Thursday. The owner,Varinder Gandhok,complained to the police that she had left her house locked on January 21 and came back on Wednesday night to discover the burglary. Investigations are on.

Protest by Haryana Janhit Congress (BL)
Panchkula:
Workers of Haryana Janhit Congress (Bhajan Lal) protested against price rise at the roundabout of Sector 17 and 18 on Thursday and burnt the effigy of Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. They also demanded that the CBI investigate the corruption in Gurgaon land deal. The party’s youth wing president Pankaj Sharma and district president Ram Gopal were present at the protest.
