No action had been taken in all these years. There are certain changes that were required in the houses for us to live comfortably. The housing board should allow these, asserted a resident.
They had earlier been asked to apply for regularisation of the changes in the houses. Around 70 people had applied. The remaining rue that they did not get the information on time and when they finally got to know about it,they were not provided with the layout plans despite repeated attempts.
The demolition went on till evening. After that the residents got a stay order from a lower court.
CHB Secretary M M Sabharwal said that the people cooperated with CHB during the drive. We will be examining the stay order and ascertain whether it is for a particular area or for the whole sector. The next course of action will then be decided, he informed.
