CHART trainee Ranjit moves into next round

Playing a controlled game,Ranjit Singh,the effervescent CHART trainee,dictated terms during his first round match in the main draw of the CLTA AITA Talent Series tennis tournament at CLTA Stadium in Sector 10,on Monday. Under overcast but hot and humid conditions,Singh played some thundering shots and mixed it with clever placement of the ball to register an easy 9-3 win and entered the next round.

Other CHART trainees- Prinkle,Gayatri and Vikrant- also got off to winning starts to sail into the second round in their respective categories. While Prinkle Singh carved out an easy 9-1 win over Princy to enter the second round of girls u-14 category,Gayatri Kumraiah also played well and bamboozled her opponent,Gurmehar Kaur,9-1 to book her place in girls u-18 second round.

In the boys’ u-14 category,Sagar Bains stormed into the second round with a clinical display during his 9-1 win over Bhavdeep Singh. Navneet Singh,too,booked his place in the second round as he thrashed Laksha Vohra 9-0.

Sehaj Sidhu,playing in the same age category,had to overcome a resilient Kanav Khurana 9-7 to secure his place in the second round.

In the boys’ U-18 category,Arnav Alok Goel fought his way to a 9-8 (3) win over Barun Singh Gill to advance to the second round while Paramveer Singh Bajwa carved out a 9-4 win over Mritunjay Badola to enter the second round.
