Chandigarh: Develop creativity for better learning in schools, says expert

The meet focused on a teaching goals and aspirations for learning that extended well beyond academic curricula.

“Holistic education is synonymous with a well-structured curriculum. We need to bring in a system where the focus is not merely the textbooks, but on creating creative individuals. We need to treat the children as the curriculum,” said Pooja Aggarwal, Director NatureNurture Eduserv and Nurture Child Development Centre, during a conclave organised at the CII Convention Centre in Chandigarh Tuesday.

Around 50 chairpersons, managers, directors and heads of schools from across the city were invited to the conclave that aimed at defining their roles in providing holistic education to students.

The progamme, which was activity-based, was organised by Nurture Child Development and Educational Society and Nature Nurture Eduserv Private Limited.

The common consensus was on creating scientific, efficient and structured learning systems.

Director of Multi Disciplinary Clinic, Spectrum, Vinita Berry, said that a child’s social and emotional well-being should be the focus of an effective and comprehensive curriculum.
