Centre releases Rs 75.83 cr for HP as capital subsidy

The central government has released Rs 75.83 crore as arrears of the capital investment subsidy to the industrial units of Himachal Pradesh.

The central government has released Rs 75.83 crore as arrears of the capital investment subsidy to the industrial units of Himachal Pradesh. The arrears have been granted under the industrial package, which the Centre had withdrawn prematurely in 2010.

Industries Minister Kishan Kapoor, who met Union Minister for Commerce and Industry Anand Sharma in New Delhi on Saturday, said the amount has been released to Himachal Pradesh State Industrial Development Corporation for disbursement. The amount will help clear the claims sent by the promoters under the subsidy scheme of 2003,when the industrial package was announced.

“The state government has already disbursed the sanctioned amount of Rs 29.84 crore during the last financial year,” Kapoor said.

Kapoor, during the meeting with the Union minister, also requested the Centre to sanction Rs 2.88 crore as central share for construction of approach road to proposed inland container depot at Baddi.
