Back to roots
Now that the multiplexes are finally back in business, rounds of promotions and publicity has begun in full swing. Especially when a film has been majorly shot in Punjab. Come June 22,and the entire cast and crew of Sohail Khan Productions will be touring the city for the promotion of their upcoming film,Kissan. Starring Jackie Shroff,Sohail Khan,Arbaaz Khan,Nauheed Cyrusi and Dia Mirza, the film is a ‘raw and real’ story of the plight of farmers in Punjab and their war against the rising concrete jungle. “It’s about saving their land from the colonisers,” tells Punjab Production Controller Gurpreet Singh Giani who was instrumental in the film’s production here. Stay tuned.

Bridges across Mumbai city
FOR a maiden venture, this one’s quite experimentative. Come June 26,and Inox Motion Pictures will be releasing their film,‘Morning Walk’. Produced by Tapan Biswas and directed by Arup Dutta, the film is a tale of two families, their lives and relationships. It stars Anupam Kher and Sharmila Tagore along with Rajit Kapoor,Divya Dutta,Shayan Munshi,Nargis and Balika Vadhu’s Avika Gor. Kher plays one Professor Joymohan whose life changes after he suffers a heart-attack. Thereafter,he realizes he needs to spend more time with his family, and moves to Mumbai where he meets an old student and friend Neelima (Sharmila Tagore),now a mother of two. The bridges begin to build from there.

Pack UP!
ONCE Upon a Time in Mumbai,we spotted a brand-new Emraan Hashmi. Yes,he’s over kiss and tell days, and being the brooding beau. It’s time to get into shape days, and Hashmi,we hear, has been working out real hard with his personal trainer for his upcoming flick,“Once Upon A Time in Mumbai”. Directed by Milan Lutharia and produced by Ekta Kapoor,Hashmi plays a young striking Don in the film, and hence the slick toned look. “Yes,I am mounting a new look for this movie as chalked out by Milan. The film’s set in early ‘70s and the character I’m playing is a sturdy, robust looking guy,” says the actor who’s very excited about gymming before it goes on floors in June. “Well,I’m not a physical fitness guy,and so this is an uphill task,” confesses a frail Hashmi who assures us that he’s not dieting or starving. “Instead,I’m gorging six times. It’s no to fried food and sweet binges, but I’m happy that I’m allowed to eat because it’s really hard for a foodie like me to stay away food!” Emraan resumes the workout.
