CCTV cameras to be installed in Sector-26 grain market

The Market Committee of the Grain Market in Sector 26 in a meeting held today has decided to install CCTV surveillance in the mandi.

The Market Committee of the Grain Market in Sector 26 in a meeting held today has decided to install CCTV surveillance in the mandi. The members felt that the mandi was crowded and there was a need to install CCTVs.

The installation will cost around Rs 23 lakh and will be borne by the committee.

The meeting held under the chairmanship of Market Committee chairman Darshan Singh was attended by vice-chairman Subhash Chander and members Devinder Singh Babla,Des Raj Gupta,Ramvir Bhatti,Jujhar Singh Badheri and Devinder Kumar Lubana.

The committee unanimously decided that the mandi should be shifted to Sector 39. A report would be sent to Secretary State Agricultural Marketing Board for shifting of the mandi as it was felt that the parking space in the mandi was less. This was opposed to by Babla.

The committee had decided to stop the receipt of licence fee of the vegetable shed from Sood Brothers in mandi.
