Candidates can now get access to copy of OMR answersheets

“This year,we will also allow students to take home the question booklet. Earlier,we used to display the answer key alongside the HPCPMT result,but the students always faced a problem as they could not compare their answers to all 200 questions asked. From now,they will have their answersheet (photocopy) as well as the question booklet,” said Gupta.

The objections,if any,can be filed by the students within 10 days after declaration of the results.

Justifying the cost fixed for a single copy of the OMR answersheet,Gupta said the university incurred Rs 50 to generate one such sheet.

The HPPMT is scheduled to be held on May 27 this year.

The test was surrounded by a huge controversy in 2006,due to question paper leak. The exam had to be rescheduled. After an inquiry ordered by the court,at least 119 persons were arrested and chargesheeted. The trial is going on in a lower court in Shimla.

Hearing a preliminary petition in the paper leak case,the HP High Court had issued directions for more transparency in conducting the entrance examination taken by nearly one lakh students every year.
