British Charm

Gentlemen looking to buy a bow-tie or a good old Bowler need not look too far.

Gentlemen looking to buy a bow-tie or a good old Bowler need not look too far. Hackett, the upmarket British “gentlemen’s clothing company” has now opened its first store in India. Located in DLF Emporio mall in Delhi, the flagship store (in the picture) opened last week in the presence of actor Abhay Deol. The 1,000 sq ft store is stocked with clothes inspired from London of the ‘50s. Rows of tweed, polo shirts, suits and casual outfits are stacked in neat piles, along with cufflinks and wool ties. The interiors of the Delhi store are inspired from its Sloane Street (London) counterpart, with small animal skulls hanging along the doorway and old leather trunks forming a part of the decor. Our favourites are the warm and old-fashioned cashmere jumper with leather elbow patches (Rs 14,000) and the woollen jackets.Visit the store if you want to pick up a gift for your favourite uncle.
