Cong to appoint spokespersons in districts To counter BJPs campaign against the UPA government,the state Congress unit has decided to upgrade its media cell and appoint a district spokesmen. Kuldeep Rathore,PCC general secretary,told mediapersons that the party has decided to organise special camps to train the spokesmen at the state and district levels to step up a media war against the state government on corruption and illegal land sales. He will be the in-charge of the media department,along with and the partys frontal departments like NSUI and Youth Congress,added Rathore. Pensioners demand release of 60% arrears Pensioners Welfare Association of Himachal Pradesh on Thursday demanded the release of pending 60 per cent arrears due on account of revision in pensions with effect from January 1,2006. A delegation of pensioners,led by association president Jiwa Nand Jiwan,met Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and submitted a list of 21 demands.
