Shiv Sena Hindustan to move Supreme Court on Ayodhya verdict

Chandigarh: The Shiv Sena Hindustan on Sunday announced that it would join the Hindu Mahasabha in moving the Supreme Court against the Allahabad High Court verdict on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid.Its president Pawan Kumar Gupta said,“Our party will join the Hindu Mahasabha in moving the Supreme Court against the verdict.” “We are strongly opposed to division of Ram Janmabhoomi into three parts,it is not going to bring smooth results,” said Gupta,whose outfit is active in 13 states. He said his party would organise a month-long yatra from Patiala to Amritsar from November 14 to press for its various demands in Punjab. These demands include adequate compensation to families of Hindus killed in 1984 anti-Sikh riots,minority status to Hindus in Punjab and economic package to Hindus killed during militancy.

SJM convention slams US capitalistic model

Jalandhar: On the second day of the three-day national convention of Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) that began in Doaba College on Saturday,the US capitalistic model came in for fierce criticism. Renowned economist and corporate advisor S Gurumurthy said USA’s model of capitalism,which the Indian government was calling the best,had failed primarily because it was not based on social values. He said SJM had been telling the successive Indian governments that Indian economic model should be in consonance with the Indian values and culture. Gurumurthy said when Deen Dyal Upadhyay had said “family is the basis of economic model and when the family splits,economy also fails”,it was not taken seriously,but the failure of US capitalistic model had now forced everybody to agree with Upadhyay.
