Bridal Blush

The right make-up and hairdo on the wedding day is crucial for a bride.

The right make-up and hairdo on the wedding day is crucial for a bride. “An increasing number of brides now want a natural look and nothing too gaudy or over the top,” says make-up expert and hairstylist Jatin Kapoor. He was at Lakme Studio,Sector 19,on Tuesday, for a presentation on bridal looks for the season ahead. Emphasising on natural colour tones for the face and eye make-up as the key to achieving a winning look,Kapoor says,“Punjabi weddings are bright, colourful and all about grandeur. It is necessary for the bride to reflect the same opulence, but in an understated and elegant manner.” The winner of the Schwarzkopf Estetica Hairdresser of the Year Award 2010,who will be available in the city for bridal consultation, adds,“The make-up and hair should represent the bride’s cultural roots and traditions, yet give a contemporary feel.” He suggests lighter tones of pink on the cheeks, with silver dusted smoky eyes, this season. Regarding the hairdo,Kapoor says,“Many brides are wearing net and tulle dupattas over their heads, which makes it important to have a nice hairstyle. We recommend buns and knots, depending on what suits the bride. Personally,I love using hair accessories.”
