The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) in collaboration with Pracheen Kala Kendra, will organise a Pakhawaj solo performance by Arun Kumar on Wednesday. The percussionist will regale the audience at the Bhaskar Rao Indoor Auditorium in a concert, which is part of ICCR’s ‘Horizon’ series. Kumar,a noted Pakhawaj player, represents the style of Maharaja Kodau Singh gharana and has performed for various prestigious concerts all over the country. He has also given solo performances apart from accompanying some of the most senior artistes. His brilliance is seen in his command over the bols of very speedy rhythms, which he executes with clarity and artistry. His pakhawaj recitals are known for their high class tonal quality, which is known to captivate the listeners.

Kumar also has a huge collection, that includes thousands of bols and parans, some of which are very rare and difficult to play. He will be accompanied by Pankaj Kumar Pathak on harmonium.

From 6.30 pm at Bhaskar Rao Indoor Auditorium,Sector 35-B. Contact: 2662785
