Bansal guides PU to final

Local lad Oscar Bansal have been performing well for Panjab University in most of the zonal level competitions. On Wednesday,Bansal again showed his worth as the youngster played a stellar role in Panjab University’s 3-0 win over Aligarh Muslim University in the semi-final stage of the North Zone Inter-University Badminton(Men) Championship for the session 2010-2011.

Saurav Kapoor of Panjab University scored a 21-10,21-14 win over Prabhat Yadav of Aligarh Muslim University,while Oscar Bansal beat Anurag Sharma 21-15,21-17. Then the duo of Oscar and Saurav defeated the Aligarh Muslim University pair of rasheed and Anurag by 23-21,21-14.

In the other semi-final tie of the day,Guru Nanak Dev University,Amritsar ended the challenge of Delhi University,Delhi with a 3-0 win. Love Kumar of GNDU ousted Udit of Delhi University with a 21-15,21-17 win. In the second singles’ encounter,Abhimanyu scored a 21-13,21-13 win over Abhinav of Delhi University. In the third encounter of the tie,the duo of Prabhjit and Jaswinder of GNDU,Amritsar scored a 21-19,21-18 win over Udit and Ashish of Delhi University.
