Badal seeks PM intervention

Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal today sought the immediate intervention of Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh over the murder of a Punjabi youth in Melbourne on Saturday. In a statement,Badal urged the Prime Minister to ensure the safety and security of Punjabi youths in Australia who had gone there to pursue higher education and other vocations. The Chief Minister asked the PM to advise the Ministry of External Affairs to take up the matter with the Australian government to curb such incidents of brutal violence.
