Babies add colourful finale to chrysanthemum show

The fourth edition of the chrysanthemum show concluded on Sunday with vibrant celebrations, as the Baby Show emerged as the biggest attraction, delighting visitors with the cheerful participation of young children.

The fourth edition of the chrysanthemum show concluded Sunday on a joyful note, with the Baby Show emerging as the major highlight of the final day. The enthusiastic participation of tiny tots added charm and warmth to the event, drawing wide appreciation from parents, visitors, and organisers alike.

The programme was graced by the chief guest, Prof Dulal Panda, Director, NIPER, who appreciated the unique initiative and described it as an excellent blend of science, culture, and education. He said it was his first visit to the show and expressed pleasant surprise at witnessing such an exhibition of medicinal plants. He remarked that providing scientific exposure within school environment is a remarkable achievement and offers a valuable learning opportunity for students.

S K Attri, patron, Vidya Bharti North Zone, emphasised the importance of Swadeshi values, while Bhag Singh, patron of the Green School Project, said that the success of show is the result of years of consistent hard work, dedication, and patience, the positive outcomes of which are now clearly visible.

Alongside the chrysanthemum show, the Baby Show 2025 was organised and witnessed enthusiastic participation from a large number of children, adding joy and vibrancy to the celebrations. Prizes were awarded in various categories, including Most Active Baby, Best Dancer, Cutest Baby, Most Adorable Boy, Best Smiling Girl, Nicely Dressed Boy, Photogenic Face, Most Lovable Baby, and Most Confident Girl, bringing smiles and excitement to the young participants and their families.

In the chrysanthemum show, the Regional Director P.G.I.S/12 won the first prize in the government institutions category, followed by the Post Graduate College for Girls, Sector 41, Chandigarh, which secured the second prize, and the Government Girls Senior Secondary School, Sector 23, Chandigarh, which bagged the third prize, while the Government Senior Secondary School, Sector 46, Chandigarh, received the consolation prize.

In the individual category, Pintu Rawat of Phase 10, Mohali, won the first prize, Dr Parneet Kaur of Sector 71, Mohali, secured the second prize, Balwinder Kaur of Sector 71, Mohali, won the third prize, Sahil of Phase VII, Mohali, also secured the second prize, while S S Sohal of Sector 71 and Pankaj of Sector 79, Mohali, received consolation prizes.

Among private organisations, Shivansh Plantation won the first prize, followed by M/s Kavyansh Nursery, IT Park Road, Manimajra, Chandigarh, which secured the second prize, while St Stephen’s School, Sector 45, Chandigarh, bagged the third prize. Consolation prizes were awarded to Eco Club, Mohali, and Arya Public School, Sector-78, Mohali, with Gurudwara Sahib, Sector 71, Mohali, and Ludhiana Nursery also participating in the event.

In the baby show, Saanvika, 3, was declared the Most Active Baby, Shreya, 5, won the Best Dancer title, Priyangi, 4, was adjudged the Cutest Baby, Vihan Rana, 4, was named the Most Adorable Boy, Shauryavi Sharma, over two years of age, won the Best Smiling Girl award, Divit Arora, over three years of age, was awarded Nicely Dressed Boy, Layra, over two years of age, won the Photogenic Face title, Tavcharnan Kaur, over four years of age, was declared the Most Lovable Baby, and Akshita, 5, received the award for Most Confident Girl.
