Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini Saturday stated that India can only become a developed nation through the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” resolution. He emphasised that “this resolution is the path leading to self-reliance, which is India’s true strength, a strength that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognised when he raised the slogan of swadeshi”.
Saini said this while addressing the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp workshop at the BJP office in Panchkula.
The workshop, chaired by BJP state president Mohan Lal Badoli, was also addressed by national secretary Alka Gurjar, state in-charge Dr Satish Poonia, and state general secretary Phanindra Nath Sharma. The workshop was attended by state Cabinet ministers along with party’s MPs, MLAs, district presidents, state officers, and the party’s Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp team.
Addressing the workshop, Saini mentioned that “the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp campaign will run from September 25 to December 25. The campaign should reach every street and household, as this workshop not only brings people together but also inspires them to fulfil PM Modi’s vision of a developed India”.
Saini explained to the participants that “the vision for a developed India by 2047 is before us. While our ancestors broke the chains of colonialism, it is now our turn to break the chains of economic dependence and lay the foundation for a self-reliant, empowered, and prosperous India. This vision is one where every citizen is empowered, every youth is employed, and our economy can stand tall in the global arena. It is important to create confidence in every citizen that they can progress on their own”.
Saini remarked that “Swaraj was the dream of our freedom fighters, and for the past 11 years, we have been working continuously to turn it into ‘Suraaj’ [good governance]. The path to ‘Suraaj’ was shown by Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay, who worked tirelessly for it throughout his life”.
The CM said that initiatives like “Make in India,” “Local for Vocal,” “Digital India,” “Startup India,” and “Skill India” are taking the country to new heights. He stressed that every sector must come together for national development for the nation to truly become developed.
Saini also spoke about the launch of the “Atmanirbhar Haryana” portal, which allows individuals and entrepreneurs to avail benefits and start new businesses.
He emphasised that MSMEs are the backbone of the economy and the veins of the socio-economic fabric. “These enterprises not only provide employment to millions but also promote innovation. MSMEs are the most important contributors to achieving the goal of a ‘Developed India – Developed Haryana’,” Saini said.
The CM praised Haryana as “a state known for opportunities, potential, and prosperity”. “Though it is a small state in terms of population and area, it is among the most developed states in the country, contributing 3.6% to the national GDP. Recently, Haryana had been awarded the National MSME Award for its development in the sector,” Saini said.
He also talked about the implementation of the “Padma Programme” in the state, based on the principles of “Vocal for Global” and “Atmanirbhar Bharat”.
“The aim is to develop a self-reliant industrial infrastructure at the block level. Over 1,100 unnecessary rules in 48 departments have been eliminated to make business operations easier. Haryana is now the first choice for domestic and foreign investors. In the past 11 years, over 7,66,000 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) have been set up, providing jobs to 3.9 million people. Haryana has implemented the ‘State Startup Policy-2022’, fostering a new startup culture, and that the state is committed to becoming the number one startup hub in India, with 19 unicorns and over 250 Fortune 500 companies,” Saini said.
Emphasising that “the aim of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Sankalp campaign is to promote the use of indigenous products,” BJP state in-charge Dr Poonia said, “Haryana must be made the number one state in self-reliance.”
Motivating the party workers, Dr Poonia urged them to spread the message of this self-reliant movement and raise awareness about it, starting from their homes.
