ATM cloning: Another man duped

In yet another complaint of cloning of ATM card,a Sector-38 resident Milap Chand Kuhiral lost Rs 49,700 to fraudsters on Monday.

The victim has an account with the State Bank Of Patiala and the money was withdrawn in five transactions from an SBI ATM in Sector 37.

In his complaint,the victim said that he had withdrawn Rs 6,000 from the Sector-37 ATM on August 17. Two days later,he was shocked to find his account balance nil. The accused withdrew Rs 49.700 in five transactions.

“ I have an account with the State Bank of Patiala and operated the SBI ATM in Sector 37 last.

The money has been withdrawn in five transactions,” said Milap Chand,an employee of DRDO Sector 38. The SBI on Friday evening had field a complaint regarding ATM cloning at the public window of the Chandigarh police headquarters in Sector 9.

The police have already released CCTV images of two unidentified youth who were allegedly involved in the crime. The images have been sent to all police stations in the city.
