Ashish of Audit General Punjab snubbed the challenge of Audit General Uttarakhand’s Arvind to move into the final of the men’s singles category in the Indian Audit and Accounts Department Badminton Tournament held at Sector 42 Sports Complex on Monday.
The Punjab player recorded a 21-9,21-17 win over Arvind to record an easy semi-final match. He will meet Vijay of Delhi Audit who got the better of Amit of Ag Punjab by 21-9,21-15 in the another semi-final match. Similarly,Amit and Ashish of AG Punjab got together to beat Vijay and Manoj of AG Himachal Pradesh 21-13,21-15 to enter the final. In the second semi-final,Deepak and Amit of AG Uttar Pradesh combined well to prevail over Rajiv and AP Singh of Delhi Audit 21-18,21-19.
In the veteran’s category,Vinod of AG Himachal Pradesh outplayed AG Punjab’s Sudhir 21-10,21-6 to move into the final. Swaroop of AG Haryana beat Kamlesh of AG UP 21-16,21-5 to enter the final.
Meanwhile,Delhi Audit beat AG UP by 3-1 in team events final. In the first singles match,Rajiv of Delhi Audit outplayed Anurag of AG UP by 21-17,21-7,while in the second singles match,Vijay of Delhi Audit got the better of Deepak of AG UP by 21-7,21-14. In the doubles match,Salil and Deepak of AG UP beat Rajeev and AP Singh of Delhi Audit by 21-16,21-14. In the last singles match,Sunil of Delhi Audit beat Amit of AG UP by 16-21,21-8,21-3.
